Compare capacity fields separately

Rim diameter, rim width, complete wheel/tire diameter and wheel weight appear on separate rows because they describe different limits. A 30-inch rim rating does not prove that a 200 lb assembly fits. Likewise, a high wheel-weight rating does not guarantee the wheel clears the hood or fits the standard cones.

Coats 1600 has a larger published overall tire and wheel-weight envelope in the current manufacturer specifications; Hunter SWP90 offers a different measurement and centering workflow. Compare shows the difference without declaring one machine better for every shop.

Centering and tooling deserve the same attention as size

The comparison includes shaft diameter, published cone or center-hole range, motorcycle support and truck tooling. These rows matter when the wheel is lug-centric, has an unusually large center hole or needs a motorcycle shaft. A dimensional match without a correct centering method is incomplete.

Weaver W-937-40 and W-987 are useful examples because their current pages publish a 40 mm shaft, a 44–158 mm cone range and model-specific specialty kits. Other manufacturers publish less complete cone-range information, so “Not published” is more useful than inventing a universal range.

Automatic data entry should say what the machine measures

Compare does not reduce automatic measurement to a simple yes/no when the manufacturer specifies which dimensions are entered automatically. Ranger LS45DS and Coats 1600 publish automatic distance/diameter/width entry; Weaver W-987 publishes automatic distance/diameter; KATOOL KT-B750 publishes automatic A/D measurement.

Coats 1500 currently has inconsistent manufacturer wording about automatic width entry. The comparison keeps the documented automation visible and gives a plain note to check that one detail instead of choosing whichever source claims more.

Road force and runout remain separate diagnostic rows

Hunter RFE33 publishes true load-roller road-force measurement plus radial/lateral runout. Coats E900 publishes runout diagnostics but does not publish road-force measurement. This difference is important for shops buying specifically to diagnose ride complaints.

Use Road Force Balancer if that diagnostic workflow is a core requirement. Otherwise, Compare lets the road-force row sit alongside all the ordinary capacity and workflow rows without turning it into a universal winner.

Heavy-duty models change weight capacity, tooling and handling together

Ranger RB30T, Atlas WBT-210 and Coats 6450 publish maximum wheel weights of 330, 440 and 500 lb. Atlas and Coats include wheel lifts/tooling for heavy commercial assemblies. Their power, air, machine weight and floor-space requirements are also different from passenger balancers.

Comparing those machines against a 135–175 lb passenger balancer makes the machine-class difference obvious. The comparison is not just “bigger rim range”; it is a different load-handling and installation problem.

Show differences only is a reading aid, not a ranking filter

After selecting two to four models, the Differences only checkbox hides rows where all selected machines display the same value. It can make a long specification table easier to scan, especially within one brand or machine class.

A difference is not automatically an advantage. A heavier machine, higher voltage or larger wheel capacity can be unnecessary for one shop and essential for another.

When manufacturer materials differ, the affected specification stays visible as something to check

Atlas WB11 has differing current Atlas maximum-rim and wheel-weight values. Ranger RB30T currently gives two different maximum tire diameters on the same product page. Coats 1500 materials differ on automatic wheel-width entry, and KATOOL KT-B700 pages differ on supply voltage. Compare does not hide those models; it shows the rest of their current specifications and points out the specific detail that should be checked before relying on it.
